So, at any rate, I've been swept up in making models for Spring, or at least..attempting to.
I've already made one map for the game, which does need some work, but eh..it was a newb's map anyway.
Now, I move on to models. I've toyed around with a tutorial my boyfriend made about modeling with Wings3D (decent and free program if you need one) and I managed to texturize it without making too horrible a mess. Now, with that out of the way, I am on to my newest idea...air-mines.
Why? Don't ask me, a friend on the game and I just thought it up. Hell, we have mines in the water and the ground, why not in the air? Maybe I'll even add a cloaking option for shits and giggles.
Imagine your enemy flying into your base, only to smash into an invisible mine and explode. :D
Of course, this means I have to design mines for at least two different levels of team units, but I have those ideas picked out already based off of real Navy mines, and I've found my unit that will fly around building the mines too.
Now, I just have to put my ideas into 3D, get the textures slapped on them, and then get them scripted and ready to let people test them out and help me pick out the bugs and such.
This should be fun.
God, I am such a dork. D:
